Marco “Thomas” Tomassini

He was born in Italy in 1971, in the city of Genoa. He began climbing and attending the Finale area in the 1980s, where he later moved permanently.

The passion for the mountain and the rock make him approach first to speleology and then to climbing. In short it also begins to equip climbing routes especially in the area of the Finale. Between 1993 and 1996 he became Instructor of the S.S.I. (Società Speleologica Italiana) and then instructor of sport climbing in the U.I.S.P. (Unione Italiana Sport per Tutti) and assistant instructor in the C.A.I. (Italian Alpine Club). Finale and its rocks become the scenario of climbing and nailing that it prefers. Here, in the course of about twenty-six years, he equipped more than 600 routes alone or together with others.

In 2007 he published, with the publishing house Le Mani edizioni, his first guide “Finale by Thomas”, a sort of “professional” curriculum of his climbing routes. In 2010 he published his second guide on the Finale area, “Finale … non solo mare”, published by the same publisher, which describes the non-hotel structures of the district.

In 2011, after a careful and painstaking mapping and survey of the Finalese cliffs, “Finale Climbing” was the sport climbing guide published by the publishing house Versante sud.

In 2013 Sentieri di Finale comes out, its fourth guide, born from a new passion; research and discovery of paths and trekking in the Finale area, always published by the publishing house Versante sud.

Now it completely changes gender and with the great collaboration of the guide Valerio Peluffo it comes out with this guide, which meticulously describes four of the most beautiful villages in Italy. At the same time it will be released with its first science fiction novel, entitled THE SECRET OF THE PRINCIPESSA VAL and, like this guide, it is published by Il Geko.
